Wayne Matthew Marte represents UP Cebu in 13th Asian Youth Forum in Bangkok, Thailand
Congratulations to Mr. Wayne Matthew A. Marte (center in photo), second year Mass Communication student of UP Cebu, for being chosen as the national delegate of the Philippines to the 13th Asian Youth Forum in Bangkok, Thailand at Thammasat University and the Ambassador Hotel held from 27 January to 2 February 2015.
The Asian Youth Forum (AYF) brings together vibrant youth from different Asian universities and institutions into an international convention where they can share their ideas, views, and thoughts on culture, language, leadership, social and global issues.
The AYF works to promote international understanding, intercultural communication and leadership skills through the medium of English-as-a-global-language. It aims to empower young people in Asia by providing them with opportunities to deepen their understanding of Asian cultures and create a network of youth leaders in the Asia-Pacific region.
This year’s AYF theme is “Youth Bridging Cultural Differences through Language”. AYF 13 was held as part of the 2015 Pan-Asian Conference on Language Teaching (PAC), hosted by the Thai TESOL English teaching association. AYF 13 brought together 60 youth from 15 Asian countries.
